Student Formation

The concept of student formation is directly linked to our pastoral care structures and the development of identity our College strives to develop in our students.  It is premised on the notion that:

“Every time an adult comes into contact with a young person is an opportunity for formation.”

The Student Formation Curriculum team oversees the implementation of the Personal and Academic Skills Development programs in Years 5 to10. The team includes the Dean of Students, Dean of Studies, Dean of Waterford, Head of Faculty - Lower Middle Schooling, Head of Faculty - Middle Schooling, Head of Faculty - Exceptional Learners and Student Counsellor.

In Years 5 to 7 the Student Formation Curriculum is managed and implemented by class teachers with the responsibility resting with the key teacher in each year level and the overall responsibility resting with the Head of Faculty - Lower Middle Schooling. Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace

In Years 8 and 9 the Student Formation Curriculum is managed and implemented by the core teacher with the overall responsibility resting with Head of Faculty – Middle Schooling.

In Year 10 the Student Formation Curriculum is managed and implemented by the Formation Teacher with the over- all responsibility resting with the Dean of Waterford.
