Retreat Programme

The Retreat program at Gregory Terrace provides students with the opportunity to grow in Christian self-understanding, to develop a life of prayer and worship and to respond to Christ's call to serve others. Our retreats are created to be a time to renew, reconcile within the context of a Christian reflective experience.

Retreats have historically held a significant place in the experience of Terracians as part of their growth and understanding of themselves and others.  An overview of the retreats conducted for individual year levels is provided below:

Year 5 Retreat

Positive Relationships - Our lives are lived as people who build community with others. This Retreat will aim to help students understand what it means to be present for the other.

Year 6 Retreat

More on Positive Relationships - our lives are not lived in isolation... This Retreat begins to build an understanding of how we can respond to the needs of others especially those who are marginalised in our society.

Year 7 Retreat

Servant Leadership - we are called to be the best we can be. This Retreat builds on our understanding of positive relationships and asks us to be people who will live for others and work with them and for them.

Year 8 Shalom Retreat

We gather to form community - this Retreat aims to help students to relate with their new peers in what is for many, a completely new environment.

Year 9 Emmaus Retreat

We all have difficult times – we grow from them - Year 9 is a sacred time of new beginnings. This Retreat aims to help students become aware of the sacred nature of their story and that of their friends.

Year 10 Micah Retreat

Who walks beside you?  Year 10 is a sacred time of personal growth and awareness. This Retreat aims to help students grow in their self awareness.

Year 11 Leadership Camp

We lead by walking with others - an opportunity to take time to look towards the year ahead as Seniors and to discover the meaning of leadership, to consider role models of leadership, to practice the skills of leadership and to plan for the year’s events.

Year 12 Kairos Retreat

We live in God’s Time - the Kairos Retreat is a key part of our Retreat Program. It is a ‘voluntary’ retreat and takes place in the students’ Senior Year. The retreat is essentially experiential and based upon story telling.
