College Productions
An eagerly anticipated component of Gregory Terrace’s annual cultural program is the College Production. This has previously involved co-production partners such as other schools and frequently draws on a wide range of skills from across the College.
Of course, students involving in Music, Drama and Theatresports are highly involved but so too are other students from across all areas of the College – particularly those with technical aptitudes in production, especially Film, Television and New Media and Technology.
The opportunity to prepare and perform a celebrated work in an established venue and take such a project from casting and planning stages to performance, requires great effort, perseverance and teamwork and the coming together of many different people, skill sets and personalities. The Terrace Community is traditionally very supportive of the College Production and it is a highlight on the cultural calendar.
Forthcoming Productions
Around 80 students from Terrace and All Hallows are now in the midst of frenetic rehearsal periods as our opening night for Guys and Dolls, Thursday 24 May, draws ever near. After a few busy practice days over the Easter break, we now launch into phase 2 of our preparations as elements such as the set, props, costumes, lighting and sound come into focus. The show and the student performers show great promise and the audience is surely in for a treat with some wonderful comic performances from our male leads; dynamic and masterful character and vocal work from our female leads; angelic vocals from our entire ensemble and spectacular routines from the Hot Box dancers.
This year our show will take place at the Twelfth Night Theatre, Bowen Hills. We will present a three-day season from Thursday May 24 to Saturday May 26. This performance season will surely be a highlight for the Terrace cultural calendar this year and a momentous event for the Terrace and All Hallows' communities.
Tickets are NOW ON SALE through the Twelfth Night Theatre box office and bookings can be made by calling 3252 5122 during business hours.
