Exchange Program

As the world becomes increasingly integrated through technology and figuratively, a “smaller place”, great opportunities have emerged.  St Joseph’s College is mindful of making opportunities available to our students that expand and enhance their understanding of the world.  To this end, Terrace considers internationality and travel to be of great significance and value to our students and has worked consistently over many years to establish mutually successful partnerships with schools and organisations internationally.

This is strongly exemplified in our Exchange Program which continues to grow, and offers students a chance to travel, experience a new culture and immerse themselves in a learning exchange for their own personal development and as ambassadors of Terrace and its cultural exchange with our international friends.

Terrace, with the generous support of the Gregory Terrace Old Boys' Association, has a regular USA Exchange.

The Exchange provides four terrace students the opportunity to spend up to six weeks in the State billeted with local families and attending the Archbishop Moeller High school in Cincinnati and Chaminade College in St Louis.

The Terrace Community in turn hosts two American students from each of those schools.

An excellent relationship also has been established with Konan Boys’ High School in Kobe, Japan.  Consequently, students who learn Japanese have the opportunity for real language exchange via the Terramoo chat site as well as through the Exchange Program that offers opportunities for both long and short term exchanges.

In addition to our Exchange Program, Terrace extends the opportunity to travel on tours and excursions, both internationally and domestically, to all its students both for recreation and as a part of the range of academic and other educational programs the College delivers.  Further information can be accessed via the tours and excursions webpage.
