Outdoor Education

Established between 1974 and 1975 and formally opened in the College’s Centenary year, 1975 by then headmaster, Br Barry Buckley, the Gregory Terrace Outdoor Education Centre (GTOEC) is situated high on the shores of Lake Maroon, near Boonah, west of Brisbane.  Our Centre has been host to wonderful and unique learning opportunities to generations of Terracians, a history which can be appreciated in the download, history of the GTOEC.

Affectionately known as “Maroon”, the Centre conducts Outdoor Education programs for students from Years 5 to Year 10 as well as hosting a diverse range of College activities and programs, including our retreat programs.

Outdoor Education forms a very important part of life at Terrace and the development of our students.  There are lessons that are powerfully taught at Maroon that help our young men develop and which complement their endeavours in the classroom and in their participation in other college programs.

A series of useful links have also been provided for students looking to extend their learning and experiences from our programs.

We look forward to welcoming Terracians to Maroon.
