Guys and Dolls to play the Twelfth Night

Joe Howard and Henry Bretz will play the roles made famous by Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra in the Terrace/All Hallows' musical production of Guys and Dolls.

Joe will play the role of Sky Masterson and Henry (Nathan Detroit) in the musical set in 1940s New York.

Brando and Sinatra, two of the biggest stars of their time, were in the 1955 film of the musical alongside another major Hollywood star Jean Simmons (Sarah Brown) and Vivian Blaine (Miss Adelaide, and who also played the role on Broadway).

In the Terrace/All Hallows' musical, Miss Adelaide will be played by Sophie Perkins and Sarah Brown by Grace Rigby.

The production, which will play at the Twelfth Night Theatre from May 24-26, is being directed by Terrace's Miss Rachel Morel.

"This is sure to be a slick and spectacular show. I am delighted to be directing,'' Miss Morel said.

The film was adapted from the 1950 Broadway musical by composer and lyricist Frank Loesser.

Probably the best known song from the musical is Luck Be a Lady, sung surprisingly well by Brando in the film but better know as a hit song, ironically, for Sinatra.

The plot is based on the activities and petty criminals and gamblers in 1940s New York.

Further details on other cast members and ticketing will be made available soon.
