College Board
The St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace Board was formally commissioned at Awards Night 2002 before the assembled Terrace Community.
As an EREA school, the Terrace College Board has as its Mission to provide a Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition within the wider Catholic Church.
Further, within the ministry of Governance, EREA School Boards embrace this Mission through fidelity to the Charter and the cultural characteristics of Catholic Schools in the Edmund Rice Tradition.
The EREA Governance Framework articulates the roles, delegations, authorities and responsibilities of EREA Council, EREA Board, EREA Executive, EREA Principals and EREA School Boards.
The St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace Board works in partnership with the Principal in order to undertake a range of delegated responsibilities aimed at providing optimum learning outcomes for all students attending the College.
From 1793 to 1796 Edmund Rice developed a framework for managing the future operations of his brotherly community. The framework was known as the design.
The design was influenced by the governance and constitution of the Presentation Sisters. The Design document replaced the four provincial constitutions of the Christian Brothers.
The Design for EREA School Boards encompasses five aspects:
- Principles of EREA Governance
- Operating procedures
- Membership
- Code of Conduct
- Handbook.
