Campus Ministry

Morning Mass
Tuesday Morning Mass (Term Time) is held in the Chapel of the Holy Family commencing at 7.55am.
All members of the Terrace Community are welcome.
As a central pillar of our College Mission, Gregory Terrace fundamentally aspires to develop “men of faith and learning”. Our faith is an intrinsic part of everything we do at Terrace – from the classroom to the sporting fields and in our dealings with one another. Our sense of faith, service and identity emanates from the Campus Ministry.
Our Campus Ministry follows in the tradition of Blessed Edmund Rice and is an essential part of our rich and integrated education at Gregory Terrace. Indeed it is the basic platform for understanding the teachings behind our faith. We challenge our students to put their faith into action – in the quality of their relationships, in their giving and compassion and throughout their lives.
The aim of our community is to propel our College Mission as well as the cultural characteristics of a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice Tradition, as outlined in The Charter.
Liturgies and Masses form an important part of the College Calendar and are significant in the spiritual lives and reflective practice of our students and the extended Terrace Family. These special occasions are overseen by the Dean of Identity.
Our Retreat program and Peer Ministry program are also closely linked to our Campus Ministry and Student Formation and Pastoral Care structures that our College develops.
Some of the fundamental tenets of our Campus Ministry are:
- Holistic Education - Integrated development occurs through quality teaching and learning
- Spirituality - Each person’s story is unique and sacred.
- Faith in Action - Each person is called to respond out of a personal relationship with God
- Community - A school forms a distinctive community.
- Pastoral Care: The dignity of each person as a child of God is at the heart of pastoral care.
- Service of Others - Service of others is integral to being a follower of Jesus.
- Being Just - Justice is integral to the vision of the Kingdom.
- At the Margins - Edmund Rice, following Jesus, sought out the marginalised.
- Compassion - Compassion is central to the life and teaching of Jesus and to the spirituality of Edmund.
- Stewardship - God’s gifts are to be shared justly and used wisely, as exemplified by Edmund
- Reflective Practice - Reflective practice leads to personal and communal growth.
Campus Ministry offers a wide variety of Liturgical, Retreat and Service programs though which our community can act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God.
