Looking Ahead to Terrace 150 | Ms Zoe Morgan
As we approach Terrace’s Sesquicentennial, excitement builds for this milestone celebration of our College’s 150-year legacy. More than just marking the passage of time, this occasion honours the shared journey and achievements of our Terrace Family. We invite everyone to join the celebrations.
A highlight of the year’s festivities will be launching a comprehensive history book capturing Terrace’s journey over 150 years. This publication will serve as a lasting tribute to our College’s remarkable story and its impact on the community. Launching during the Sesquicentennial events, this book will reflect on our legacy, commemorating the individuals, events, and values that have shaped Terrace.
Additionally, we have curated a calendar of special events throughout 2025 that promise to bring together generations of the Terrace Family. Celebrations will begin with a Community Mass on Friday 7 February at the Cathedral of St Stephen, the founding site for Terrace. This Mass will provide a moment for reflection and gratitude, honouring the faith and humility that define Terrace’s mission.
The Terrace Ball on Saturday 7 June, hosted at the Star Brisbane, will follow as a vibrant celebration of community and connection. An evening of friendship and joy, we invite all members of the Terrace Family to join what will be an elegant event to celebrate our shared history and memories.
For those interested in exploring Terrace’s past, the Museum Open House on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July will offer an immersive experience in our archives. Visitors will find treasured memorabilia and artefacts that tell the story of our 150 years, providing a unique look into the College’s journey.
Concluding the year’s events, GT on the Green on Saturday 18 October will be a lively community day, inviting families, Old Boys, and friends to come together and enjoy Terrace spirit in a relaxed setting.
It’s not too late to share your favourite memory of Terrace – let us know via the link here the highlight of your time at Terrace. We’d love to hear from everyone in the Terrace Family.
As we count down to this momentous year, we look forward to sharing these celebrations with everyone who holds Terrace close to their heart. Let us come together to honour our past, celebrate the present, and look forward to a bright red and black future.
