Principal's Message Term 4 Week 9 | Dr Michael Carroll
Dear members of the Terrace Family,
Welcome to the final week of the 2024 school year. Students will be dismissed at 12.30pm on Friday 29 November, at the conclusion of our Thanksgiving Liturgy in the Campbell Centre.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank students, parents, and staff for all that you have done for Terrace during 2024. It has been another successful year at the College, and your dedication and commitment have contributed significantly to this success. I wish all families a safe and restful Christmas break and look forward to the excitement that our 150th year will bring.
At the end of each year, a number of staff move to other roles in other schools. I thank these staff members for their contribution to Terrace and wish them well for the next stage of their professional journey. I will provide further details of staff movement in my end of year letter.
I wish to acknowledge and thank Mr Damien Cuddihy for his significant contribution as Dean of Students from 2019 to 2024. As I have communicated, Damien will leave this role at the end of the year but will remain part of our teaching staff next year while he pursues further study. Damien’s contribution to Terrace over the past 27 years has been substantial, but his last six years as Dean of Students have arguably been most significant. Damien’s dedication to our Terrace students' wellbeing and formation has been outstanding. On behalf of all within the Terrace Family, I thank Damien for his passion, commitment, and genuine care of our students. I would also like to highlight Damien's valuable contributions to the College Leadership Team during his tenure as Dean of Students. I am pleased that Damien will remain on staff at Terrace in 2025, and I am confident that many others share this view. Thank you, Damien, for your support, professionalism, and genuine care for all Gentlemen of Terrace
Finally, I wish everyone a safe, Holy and restful Christmas. I look forward to resuming our journey together in 2025. Next year will be filled with special events to celebrate the College providing 150 years of quality Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition. Our first major event will be the Terrace 150 Community Mass, to be celebrated at St Stephen’s Cathedral on Friday 7 February. A warm invitation to attend this Mass is extended to all families – present, past and future.
Please register your attendance HERE.
Further information regarding the 150 Mass and other planned 150 events will be available throughout the year.
Merry Christmas and God Bless.
