House Friendship Groups Christmas Appeal | Mr Zach Woodward

During College assembly this week, our Captains launched the Christmas Appeal for 2024. One of the unique aspects of Terrace’s House Friendship Group program, is that it gives our students the opportunity to feel connected to the mission of their respective organisations.

Throughout the year, each House participated in fundraising and advocacy activities, as well as attended guest speaker presentations from their Friendship Groups during House assemblies. The Christmas Appeal offers a unique opportunity for students to give back to their Friendship Group, and make meaningful and tangible contributions to the communities they support. We encourage students to consider giving up some of their own spending money to buy a gift for this year’s initiative.

Please note that all communication surrounding the specific items needed by your House Friendship Group will be distributed by House Deans. Collection of these items will occur during school time from Weeks 7-8.

The following prayer was read beautifully by College Captain for 2025, Cooper Dooley, at the recent whole school assembly. Its words remind us to prepare our hearts, and be generous during this Christmas season:

Lord Jesus,
teach me to be generous. Teach me to serve as you deserve,
To give and not to count the cost, To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To labour and not to seek to rest,
To give of myself and not ask for a reward,
Except the reward of knowing that I am doing your will.
Amen.
