Significant Milestones | Mr Damien Cuddihy
Last week, our Senior students reached a significant milestone by concluding their secondary classes as school students. It was fitting that on their final day, they participated in their last House Assembly and spent time reflecting with their House Deans about their journey at Terrace. As I observed these assemblies, I was deeply moved by the strong connections our young men have with their Houses. Their sense of belonging to Terrace is wonderful, but the familial bonds within House groups truly highlight the strength of our pastoral system. The BBQ lunch with parents at Tennyson was a fitting way to finish the day, with the College Vice Captains making special mention of the support their parents and caregivers have provided over the years.
With external exams now underway, the prospect of graduation is starting to loom large. This moment marks the culmination of years of hard work, growth, and learning. It is a time filled with mixed emotions - excitement for the future, nostalgia, and perhaps anxiety about what lies ahead. The moment that this Year 12 class walk across the stage to shake Dr Carroll's hand will symbolise the friendships forged, the challenges overcome and the knowledge gained in the last 13 years of schooling. Speeches from teachers and the College Captain will reflect this journey, emphasising perseverance and the value of education. These moments will create lasting memories for our students.
